Chelsea Rumoured to Be Pursuing Rising German Star
Chelsea have reportedly been circling the signature of highly-rated German attacker, Lukas Schmidt, according to sources close to the player. Schmidt, currently playing for Bundesliga side, FC Munchen II, has been attracting interest from several top European clubs.
The 21-year-old has impressed with his pace, dribbling skills and eye for goal. Scouts from Chelsea were present at Schmidt's recent Bundesliga 2 game against Hannover 96, where he scored a stunning volley.
While no official bid has been made, it is believed that Chelsea are keen to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season. Schmidt's contract at FC Munchen II expires at the end of the campaign, which could make him available for a relatively lower transfer fee.
