Chelsea are reportedly eyeing up a move for highly-rated Argentinian forward, Mateo Rodriguez, according to sources close to the club.
The Blues have been monitoring Rodriguez's progress at Boca Juniors for several weeks, and it appears they are now ready to make a formal offer. Rodriguez, 22, is known for his pace, dribbling skills, and eye for goal.
“Chelsea see Rodriguez as a long-term solution to their attacking woes,” said a club source. “He fits the profile we're looking for – young, exciting, and capable of scoring goals.”
Boca Juniors are expected to demand a significant fee for the player, but Chelsea are believed to be prepared to meet their asking price.
