Manchester City are reportedly ramping up their interest in highly-rated Brazilian teenager, Lucas Mendes. The 18-year-old, who currently plays for Flamengo, has been dubbed a "rising star" by scouts across Europe, and City's hierarchy have been monitoring his progress for several weeks.

Mendes, known for his exceptional dribbling skills and powerful shot, has scored 15 goals in 20 appearances for Flamengo's youth team this season. Scouts believe his aggressive style and versatility would perfectly complement Pep Guardiola's tactical approach.

“Lucas is a truly special player," stated a source close to the club. "He has the technical ability, pace, and work rate to become a world-class footballer. Guardiola is a big admirer and believes he could be a key part of the team’s future.”

However, Mendes is attracting interest from several other top clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. City are said to be keen to secure a deal before other European giants swoop in. The transfer fee is expected to be around £30 million.
