Manchester City are reportedly monitoring the progress of highly-rated young midfielder, Alex Johnson, who currently plays for Ajax.
Sources close to the club suggest that City scouts have been watching Johnson's performances in the Eredivisie, impressed by his technical ability, passing range, and tenacious work rate.
Johnson, 19, has scored 8 goals in 22 appearances for Ajax this season, attracting interest from several top European clubs. However, City are believed to be particularly keen on bringing the player to the Etihad Stadium as part of their long-term youth development strategy.
