The Pomodoro Technique

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that uses a timer to break down work into focused intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. It's designed to improve focus and productivity by limiting distractions and promoting regular breaks.

How to Use the Pomodoro Technique

  1. Set a Timer for 25 Minutes: Focus solely on one task during this time.
  2. Work with Full Concentration: Eliminate distractions – turn off notifications, close unnecessary tabs, and let others know you need uninterrupted time.
  3. Take a 5-Minute Break: When the timer rings, take a short break. Get up, stretch, grab a drink, or do something relaxing.
  4. Repeat: Continue this cycle for four "pomodoros" (25-minute work intervals).
  5. Long Break: After four pomodoros, take a longer break of 20-30 minutes.
