Bloom Effect

Image demonstrating bloom effect

This image showcases the "bloom" post-processing effect, often seen in video games and computer graphics.

Bloom simulates the way bright light sources can scatter in real-world optics, causing them to appear to "bleed" or glow outwards.

Notice how the brightest parts of the image are softened and produce a halo-like glow, adding depth and a sense of ethereal luminescence.

This effect is achieved by identifying bright pixels and then applying a blurred copy of them over the original image, with varying degrees of intensity and radius.
