New Battery Drain Issue on NovaPad X

Hey everyone,

I've been experiencing a pretty significant battery drain on my NovaPad X since the last OS update. It used to last me a full day, but now I'm lucky to get 8 hours with moderate usage.

I've already tried:

  • Clearing cache for battery-intensive apps.
  • Checking background app activity.
  • Restarting the device multiple times.

Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions on what else I can try?

Device: NovaPad X (Wi-Fi Only)

OS Version: Android 13 (Build NPX-13.2.1.5)

Hi DroidFan,

That sounds frustrating. I haven't seen widespread reports of this specific issue with the latest NovaPad X update, but it's definitely possible. Let's try a couple more things:

1. Check the "Android System" battery usage: Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Usage. See if "Android System" or any system process is consuming an unusually high percentage. Sometimes a rogue system process can cause this.

2. Safe Mode: Boot your tablet into Safe Mode. This disables all third-party apps. If the battery drain stops in Safe Mode, it means a recently installed or updated app is likely the culprit. You'll then need to uninstall apps one by one to find the offender.

To boot into Safe Mode:

  1. Press and hold the Power button.
  2. Tap and hold the "Power off" option on the screen.
  3. You should see a prompt to "Reboot to safe mode". Tap OK.

Let me know what you find!

I had a similar problem on my old Nexus tablet after an update. It turned out to be a Google Play Services bug. A cache clear for Play Services and its framework usually fixed it for me.

Settings > Apps > Google Play Services > Storage > Clear Cache

Also, consider clearing cache for Google Play Store. Worth a shot!
