Best CPU Cooler for Gaming

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU cooler for my gaming rig. Currently, I'm running an Intel i7-12700K and temps have been creeping up during long gaming sessions. I'm aiming for something that can keep my CPU cool under heavy load without breaking the bank.

I'm considering both air coolers and AIO liquid coolers. What are your recommendations? Are there any specific models you've had good experiences with? Let's discuss!

Thanks!

GamerGuru, for the i7-12700K, you definitely want something robust. For air cooling, I highly recommend the Noctua NH-D15. It's a beast and often performs on par with many 240mm AIOs. It's quiet, reliable, and comes with excellent mounting hardware.

If you're leaning towards AIOs, a 240mm or 280mm radiator from brands like Arctic Liquid Freezer II or Corsair H115i are solid choices. The Arctic is known for its amazing performance-to-price ratio.

MasterCooler is spot on. I have the Noctua NH-D15 and it keeps my 12700K frosty. Even during intense Warzone sessions, it rarely goes above 70°C. Plus, no worries about pump failure like with AIOs!

Just make sure your case has enough clearance for it, it's a pretty tall cooler.

Echoing the above. The NH-D15 is a top-tier air cooler. For AIOs, the Arctic Liquid Freezer II series is incredibly impressive, especially the 280mm or 360mm versions if your case can accommodate them. They offer fantastic cooling performance and are relatively quiet for an AIO.

Consider your budget and aesthetics too! If you want a cleaner look, an AIO might be preferable, but for pure performance and reliability, the NH-D15 is hard to beat.
