Also, for parallelization, ensure your test runners are configured to utilize multiple workers. We saw a significant improvement by splitting our integration tests across several containers.

Regarding Docker image builds, a common optimization is multi-stage builds. This allows you to use a builder image to compile your application and then copy only the necessary artifacts to a minimal runtime image, resulting in smaller and faster images. Also, leveraging Docker layer caching effectively by ordering your Dockerfile instructions wisely (most frequently changing at the end) is crucial.
