RTX 4090 Performance Deep Dive

Unboxing and Initial Impressions

Just got my hands on the RTX 4090 and WOW. The sheer size of this card is intimidating, but also a testament to the cooling solution. Initial boot-up was smooth, and driver installation was a breeze. I'm running this beast on an Intel i9-13900K with 64GB DDR5 RAM.

First tests in Cyberpunk 2077 with Ray Tracing Overdrive mode enabled are mind-blowing. I'm consistently hitting over 100 FPS at 4K resolution with DLSS 3 Frame Generation. The previous generation felt like a warm-up act for this.

Benchmark: Cyberpunk 2077 (4K, RT Overdrive, DLSS 3)
Average FPS: 115
GPU Usage: 95%
CPU Usage: 40%
VRAM Usage: 20GB / 24GB

What are your initial thoughts and benchmarks, fellow enthusiasts?

Re: RTX 4090 Performance Deep Dive

That's incredible performance! I'm still on a 3080 Ti and contemplating the upgrade. Did you notice any significant power draw or heat issues?

I've heard some horror stories about the power connectors, but hopefully, those are isolated incidents. What PSU are you running?

Re: RTX 4090 Performance Deep Dive

Hey ShadowKiller! Good question. I'm using a Corsair AX1600i, so power delivery isn't an issue. It idles around 150W and peaks at about 450W under heavy load, which is well within the PSU's capabilities. Temps are surprisingly good too; it hovers around 70°C in demanding titles.

Definitely recommend the upgrade if your budget allows. The performance jump is substantial, especially for 4K gaming and creative workloads.
