With both the RTX 4090 and the RX 7900 XTX now readily available, the debate is hotter than ever. I'm looking to upgrade my rig and need some serious input from the community. Which card offers the best performance for the money in 2023? Let's break down benchmarks, ray tracing capabilities, power consumption, and overall value.

What are your real-world experiences?

Just got my hands on the 7900 XTX and I'm blown away for the price. It handles everything I throw at it at 1440p Ultra settings. Ray tracing is decent, not quite 4090 level, but noticeable improvements over the last gen.

The 4090 is a beast, no doubt, but the price jump is astronomical. Unless you're aiming for 4K maxed out with insane RT settings, the XTX is the smarter buy.

Having owned the 4090 for a few weeks now, I can confirm it's a generational leap. Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing at 4K? Smooth as butter. DLSS 3 Frame Generation is a game-changer for those titles that support it.

However, the power draw is significant, and it requires a beefy PSU. If you have the budget and the infrastructure, the 4090 is the absolute king. For everyone else, the 7900 XTX is a fantastic alternative.
