Hey everyone! I'm finally ready to share my latest build, the "Mini-ITX Dream Machine." It's been a long journey of sourcing parts and meticulously planning to fit everything into this tiny form factor while keeping thermals in check and aesthetics on point. I've poured countless hours into cable management and custom modifications. This build aims to prove that you don't need a large chassis to have a powerful and beautiful gaming PC.

Key components include:

  • CPU: Intel Core i9-13900K
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4090 FE
  • Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z790-I Gaming WiFi
  • RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5-6400 CL32
  • Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 2TB NVMe SSD
  • PSU: Corsair SF1000L
  • Case: Custom Sourced Lian Li Q58
  • Cooling: Noctua NH-L12 Ghost S1 Edition + extra fans

I've also included some custom-sleeved cables and a few 3D-printed accents to really make it unique. Check out the full gallery in the main build log thread!

Wow, John! This build is absolutely stunning. The cable management is insane, especially in such a small case. How did you manage to fit the 4090 FE? That must have been a tight squeeze!

Totally agree with Sarah! The 4090 in an ITX build is legendary. What are your idle and load temperatures like for the CPU and GPU? Also, where did you get those custom cables?

Thanks everyone! The 4090 FE was indeed a challenge. I had to remove the original fan shroud and install some slim 120mm Noctua fans directly onto the heatsink, along with some custom 3D printed mounts. It requires constant airflow from the case fans. Temps are surprisingly good: CPU idles around 35°C and hits 70-75°C under full load. GPU idles at 30°C and maxes out around 65°C. The custom cables are from CableMod, but I chose their individual sleeved options for maximum flexibility.

This is incredible! The aesthetic is just chef's kiss. Those 3D printed accents really tie it together. Have you considered a custom water cooling loop in the future, or do you think it's too ambitious for this case?
