Re: Best Airflow Case 2024 - The debate continues!

My experience with the Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share my thoughts on the Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact. I've been using it for about six months now, and I'm incredibly impressed with the airflow. I upgraded from an older, more restrictive case, and the temperature difference on my components is significant. My Ryzen 7 5800X used to hit 80°C under load, and now it barely touches 70°C with the same cooling setup.

The build quality is top-notch, as expected from Fractal Design. Cable management is a breeze thanks to the generous space behind the motherboard tray and the Velcro ties. Dust filters are also a great addition and easy to clean.

My only minor gripe is that the front panel can be a bit of a fingerprint magnet, but that's a small price to pay for such excellent ventilation. I've got Arctic P12 PWM PST fans installed, and they really sing in this case.

Would highly recommend it if you're prioritizing airflow and a clean aesthetic.

Here's a quick spec overview of my build in this case:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
  • CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3070
  • Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING
  • RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro
  • Storage: 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD, 2TB WD Black HDD
  • PSU: Corsair RM750x
  • Fans: 5x Arctic P12 PWM PST

Let me know if you have any questions!

Re: My experience with the Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact

Great to hear about your Meshify 2 Compact experience, CyberGuru! I'm seriously considering it. How does it compare to, say, the Lian Li Lancool III in terms of raw intake capability? I'm looking for something that can really shovel air through.

Also, did you find the included fans sufficient, or did you replace them immediately?

Re: My experience with the Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact

CyberGuru, thanks for sharing! The Meshify 2 Compact is indeed a fantastic case for airflow. The full mesh front panel is a huge advantage.

To CoolerMasterFanatic's question: The Lancool III is also a strong contender, often praised for its high fan mounting potential and very open design. The Meshify 2 Compact prioritizes a cleaner, more unified mesh panel which still performs exceptionally well. Performance is often very close between the two, depending on the specific fan configuration. The Meshify 2 Compact has excellent intake from the front and good exhaust from the top and rear.

Regarding included fans, Fractal sometimes includes decent fans, but many enthusiasts (like CyberGuru) opt to swap them out for higher-performance or quieter models like the Arctic P12s, which are a popular choice for good reason.
