Hey everyone! I'm looking to build my first ever PC, and I'm on a pretty tight budget. My goal is to be able to play modern games at 1080p with decent settings, ideally hitting 60 FPS. My budget is around $600-$700, excluding the monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
I've been doing some research, and I'm thinking about going with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or maybe an Intel Core i3-13100F if the price is right. For graphics, I'm torn between an RX 6600, RTX 3050, or maybe even a used RTX 2070 Super if I can find one in good condition.
What are your thoughts on these choices for a budget build? Are there any specific components you'd recommend for better value or performance within this price range? I'm open to suggestions for motherboard, RAM (16GB seems standard, right?), storage (SSD is a must!), and power supply.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Hey GamerGuru! Welcome to the PC building world! For your budget, the Ryzen 5 5600 is an excellent choice. It offers great value and strong performance. The RX 6600 is also a fantastic option for 1080p gaming and often beats the RTX 3050 in raw performance, especially in newer titles.
For a motherboard, a B550 board from ASUS, MSI, or Gigabyte would be a good pairing. And yes, 16GB of DDR4 RAM at 3200MHz or 3600MHz is perfect. For storage, a 500GB NVMe SSD should be enough for your OS and a few games, but if you can stretch to 1TB, it's definitely worth it.
A 550W-650W 80+ Bronze PSU from a reputable brand like Corsair or Seasonic should be more than sufficient.
I agree with PCMasterRaceFan. The 5600 is a solid CPU. If you can find an RX 6600 XT or even an RX 6700 XT on sale, those would be even better if they fit your budget. Check out deals on Cyber Monday if you can wait!
Consider the Ryzen 5 5500 if you need to save a bit more on the CPU. It's still capable for 1080p and pairs well with the RX 6600. Just make sure the motherboard BIOS is updated for it.
