Build Overview

Hey everyone!

I just finished assembling my new PC and I'm super excited about it. I'm rocking an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and a 2TB NVMe SSD. The motherboard is a Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX.

I'm primarily using this for gaming at 1440p and some light video editing. I'm getting great performance so far, but I wanted to get some feedback from you all on my component choices or any potential bottlenecks I might have missed.

Here's a more detailed spec list:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX
RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 2TB NVMe SSD
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
Case: Lian Li Lancool III RGB
PSU: Corsair RM850x 850W 80+ Gold
OS: Windows 11 Pro

I'm particularly curious about the RAM speed and timings for the 7700X, and if the 850W PSU is sufficient long-term.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Great looking build, GamerXtreme! The 7700X and 4070 Ti are a fantastic combo for 1440p gaming. You've chosen some top-tier components.

Regarding your RAM, DDR5-6000 CL30 is considered the sweet spot for Ryzen 7000 series CPUs. That's excellent! You should have no issues there.

As for the PSU, 850W is definitely sufficient for your current setup, even with the 4070 Ti. It leaves a good amount of headroom for potential future upgrades or overclocking. Corsair RM850x is a very reliable unit.

The Noctua NH-D15 is a beast of a cooler, so your CPU temperatures should be well under control. The Lian Li Lancool III is also a great choice for airflow.

Only thing I might suggest is making sure your BIOS is updated to the latest version for optimal compatibility and performance with your CPU and RAM. Enjoy the new rig!

Re: My New Ryzen 7700X Build - Seeking Feedback!

Solid build, GamerXtreme. I agree with PCMasterUser on all points. The RAM is dialed in perfectly for that CPU. PSU is ample. No obvious bottlenecks.

Quick tip: Make sure to enable EXPO (or XMP if not using AMD's specific profile) in your BIOS to actually run the RAM at its advertised 6000 CL30 speeds. Sometimes it defaults to lower speeds.

If you want to push it further, you could consider a more visually striking cooler if the Noctua's aesthetic isn't your preference, but functionally it's hard to beat. Case airflow looks good, keep an eye on those GPU temps during long gaming sessions.
