I'm building a compact 2U server chassis and need 16 GB of RAM, but the space is tight. I'm looking for low‑profile (1.2 in) DDR4 modules without sacrificing speed. Any recommendations? Are there any trade‑offs I should be aware of compared to standard‑height kits?

Also, how does heat dissipation compare? I've read that heat spreaders on low‑profile sticks are thinner, which might affect stability under load.

I went with the Kingston HyperX Fury Low‑Profile 16 GB kit (2666 MHz). They fit perfectly in my Mini‑ITX build and run cool. No issues so far.

If you can stretch a bit, the Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 MHz modules are still relatively low profile (1.2 in) and have decent heat spreaders. I've seen them in many SFF builds.

Keep an eye on voltage. Some low‑profile sticks run a bit hotter, so make sure your case has adequate airflow or consider a fan‑directed at the RAM slots.
