Troubleshooting a Slow RTX 3080

Hey everyone, I've been experiencing some performance issues with my RTX 3080 lately. It's been running significantly slower than usual in demanding games, with frame rates dropping much lower than they did a few months ago. I've checked my drivers (updated to the latest), temperatures (GPU stays around 70-75°C under load, CPU around 60°C), and power supply (850W, plenty of headroom). I've also tried reinstalling a couple of games. Nothing seems to fix it. Has anyone else encountered this or have any ideas on what else I could check?

@TechSavvy That's frustrating! Have you tried a clean installation of your graphics drivers? Sometimes, just updating can leave behind old files that cause conflicts. You can use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Safe Mode for a thorough clean. Also, could it be a background process hogging resources? Check Task Manager carefully when you notice the slowdown.

@GPU_Guru Thanks for the suggestions! I haven't used DDU before, so I'll definitely give that a try next. I did check Task Manager, and while there are background processes, nothing seems to be spiking abnormally high when the game performance dips.

Another thing to consider, @TechSavvy, is VRAM usage. Is it possible your games are pushing the 3080's VRAM capacity more than they used to, or maybe a recent game update increased VRAM requirements? Tools like MSI Afterburner can help monitor VRAM usage in real-time. Also, ensure Windows is up-to-date and not running any background indexing or heavy updates during your gaming sessions.
