Hey everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my keyboard and my budget is around $150. I've been researching mechanical keyboards but the sheer number of options is overwhelming! I'm leaning towards tactile switches, but I'm open to suggestions. What are your recommendations for the best bang for your buck keyboards in this price range? I'm primarily using it for gaming and some programming. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the club, TechGuru! For under $150, you can't go wrong with the Keychron K-series or the GMMK Pro (if you catch it on sale). Keychron K8 Pro (TKL) is a fantastic wireless option with hot-swappable switches and great build quality. You can easily find it with Brown switches (tactile) within your budget. The GMMK Pro is a bit more of a DIY project, but even a barebones version can be customized heavily. It's a premium-feeling board. Also, check out the Epomaker RK84 if you like a 75% layout. It offers a lot of features for the price.

I second the Keychron suggestion! My K8 Pro has been my daily driver for over a year. The stock keycaps are decent, but if you want to elevate it further, there are tons of aftermarket options. The hot-swappable nature means you can try out different switches later if you get curious. For gaming, low latency is key, and the K8 Pro (wired mode) performs excellently. For programming, the tactile feedback is superb for reducing typos. Another strong contender is the Glorious GMMK 2. It's more budget-friendly than the GMMK Pro but still offers a solid aluminum frame and hot-swappability. Check out the 60% or TKL versions.
