CPU Overheating after BIOS Update
After updating my motherboard BIOS to version 2.3.1, the CPU temperature spikes to 95°C under light load. I’m using an Intel i7‑12700K with the stock cooler. No fan curves were changed. Any ideas on what could be causing this? I’ve checked the BIOS settings and everything looks normal.

Make sure the BIOS didn’t reset the CPU voltage. Some updates enable a higher default Vcore. In BIOS, check the “CPU Core Voltage” setting and try setting it to “Auto” or manually lower it to around 1.2 V. Also, verify that the fan header is still set to PWM mode.

I had the same issue after a BIOS flash. The solution was to load the defaults, then reapply my custom settings. While in the BIOS, go to “Save & Exit” → “Load Optimized Defaults”, then reboot. After that, re-enter the BIOS and re‑enable your XMP profile and fan curve.
