WPA3 is definitely the way to go if your router supports it. It offers stronger encryption and protects against offline password attacks. As for guest networks, keep them isolated from your main LAN and give them a separate SSID.
Regarding firmware, I always recommend using the latest stable release from the vendor. If the router is compatible, consider flashing OpenWrt for more control.

Also, change the default admin password and disable WPS. Many attacks target those weak points. If you can, set up a VPN on your router so all devices automatically route through a secure tunnel when you're away.
