NVMe Compatibility Issues

Hi everyone, I'm having some trouble getting my new Samsung 980 Pro NVMe SSD to be recognized by my motherboard (ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING). I've checked the manual, updated the BIOS, and ensured the drive is seated correctly. It shows up in the BIOS but not in Windows Disk Management. Anyone else encountered this or have any suggestions?

Specifically, I'm running Windows 10 Pro and have the latest chipset drivers installed. I've tried different M.2 slots as well, with no success. It's really frustrating!

@TechGuru88, I had a similar issue with an older system. Sometimes, you need to enable CSM (Compatibility Support Module) in the BIOS, or ensure the M.2 slot is set to PCIe Gen3/Gen4 mode if available. Also, check if your motherboard has any known limitations with specific NVMe drive controllers.

@StorageFanatic Thanks for the suggestions! I tried enabling CSM but it didn't make a difference. I'll double-check the M.2 slot settings in the BIOS again. I'm not sure about specific controller limitations, but the motherboard specs say it supports PCIe 3.0 NVMe drives, and the 980 Pro should be backward compatible.

A common culprit for this is the Windows installation media. If you're trying to install Windows onto the NVMe drive, ensure your installation media includes NVMe drivers. If Windows is already installed and the drive isn't showing up, it might be a firmware issue with the drive itself or a subtle motherboard BIOS incompatibility. Have you tried flashing the latest stable BIOS version, not just beta ones?
