Hey everyone, experiencing significant battery drain on my Pixel 6 after the latest update. It used to be great, but now I'm lucky to get through a full day. Has anyone found a reliable fix?

I've already tried:

  • Clearing cache for battery-intensive apps.
  • Disabling "5G Ultra Wideband" (though I don't even have that option).
  • Restarting the phone multiple times.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I had a similar issue! For me, it turned out to be a rogue background process from the Google Photos app. I had to go into Battery Usage stats, find the specific process, force stop it, and then disable its background activity.

Steps:

  1. Go to Settings -> Battery -> Battery Usage.
  2. Look for Google Photos or any app that's unexpectedly high.
  3. Tap on it, then tap "Force Stop".
  4. Go back to the app's main settings page (not battery usage) and disable "Background usage" or "Allow background activity".

This made a huge difference for me. Hope it helps!

@BatterySaverSam That's a good tip! I also found that disabling "Adaptive Connectivity" in developer options can sometimes help. It forces the phone to use Wi-Fi more aggressively instead of switching to mobile data unnecessarily.

To enable Developer Options: Go to Settings -> About phone -> tap "Build number" 7 times. Then find Developer Options in the main Settings menu.
