Azure Storage Lifecycle Management enables you to automate the deletion or archiving of your data based on age, access tier, or other criteria. This helps you control storage costs, comply with regulations, and simplify data management. You can define policies that control how your data is managed based on its age, access tier, and retention period. Lifecycle management can be used with Blob storage and File storage.
To configure lifecycle management, you first need to create a storage account policy. Then, you add retention policies and/or lifecycle rules to this policy. You can set up rules to automatically transition your data to cooler tiers (Cool or Archive) based on access frequency.
