Hi everyone,

I'm working on a Power Automate flow that interacts heavily with Dataverse, performing numerous create and update operations. I'm starting to hit some API limits, and I'm not entirely sure how to optimize my approach. Can anyone share best practices for managing Dataverse API limits? I'm particularly interested in bulk operations and efficient query strategies.

Great question! Dataverse API limits are crucial to understand. For bulk operations, consider using the Web API's batch requests. You can group multiple create, update, or delete operations into a single HTTP request. This significantly reduces the number of round trips to the server.

Also, be mindful of your `retrieve` calls. Only request the columns you actually need. Using `$`select in your query URL is a lifesaver.

For example:

GET [YourDataverseEnvironmentURL]/api/data/v9.2/accounts?$select=accountid,name,telephone1

Additionally, asynchronous operations can be very helpful for long-running tasks that don't require an immediate response.

Adding to Alice's points, I've found that using the OData `$batch` endpoint with the `changeset` option is the most efficient way to group writes. Each request within the batch is independent, but it's sent as one HTTP call.

Also, if you're dealing with a very large number of records, consider using the Dataverse SDK for .NET if you're building custom applications, as it offers more granular control and often better performance for bulk operations than direct Web API calls, especially when using `ExecuteMultipleRequest`.
