Welcome to the MSDN Community

Thank you for participating in the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Community. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the MSDN Community platforms, including forums, blogs, wikis, and any other services provided by Microsoft Corporation ("Microsoft") in connection with the MSDN Community ("Community Services"). By accessing or using the Community Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Community Services.

1. Your Account

To participate in certain Community Services, you may need to create a Microsoft account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify Microsoft immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

2. Code of Conduct

You agree to use the Community Services in a manner that is respectful of others and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You agree not to:

• Post or transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or racially or ethnically objectionable.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
• Post or transmit any content that infringes on the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or publicity rights of others, or any other proprietary rights of any third party.
• Post or transmit any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," or any other form of solicitation.
• Post or transmit any material that contains viruses, trojan horses, worms, or any other computer code, files, or programs designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.
• Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the operation of the Community Services or the servers or networks connected to the Community Services.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Community Services, other accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Community Services.

3. Content Ownership and Licensing

You retain ownership of any content you post or submit to the Community Services (your "Content"). However, by posting or submitting Content, you grant Microsoft and its affiliates a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, and transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, and display such Content throughout the world in any media now known or hereafter devised, and to incorporate your Content into other works.

You represent and warrant that you have all the rights, power, and authority necessary to grant the foregoing license.

4. Moderation and Enforcement

Microsoft reserves the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, edit, or remove any Content posted or submitted to the Community Services at its sole discretion. Microsoft may also suspend or terminate your access to the Community Services if you violate these Terms of Use or for any other reason, without notice.

5. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE COMMUNITY SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. MICROSOFT DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE COMMUNITY SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

MICROSOFT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE COMMUNITY SERVICES, EVEN IF MICROSOFT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

6. Changes to Terms

Microsoft may modify these Terms of Use at any time. We will post the revised terms on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Community Services after the posting of such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

7. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
