Raspberry Pi 5 – Getting Started with Windows IoT (Thread 3)

Alice Johnson Sep 12, 2025 08:45 AM

Hey everyone, I just finished flashing Windows IoT Core on my Raspberry Pi 5. The boot was super fast, but I'm having trouble with the Wi‑Fi adapter not showing up in Device Manager. Has anyone encountered this?

I had the same issue. The solution was to update the firmware using raspi-config on a Linux SD card before flashing. After that the Wi‑Fi shows up as WLAN0. Also make sure you have the latest version of the Windows IoT image (2.0.2104).

Thanks Bob! I also wanted to share a quick tip: you can enable SSH via the IoT Dashboard under "Device Services". This made remote debugging a breeze.

Here's a short snippet for enabling SSH from PowerShell on the Pi:

Set-Service -Name sshd -StartupType Automatic
Start-Service sshd

Anyone tried connecting a camera module? The official Raspberry Camera works, but you need to install the Windows.Devices.Camera package from NuGet.
