Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 pound lasagna noodles
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions.
- In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Layer with lasagna noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
