Ferrari Pit Stop Scrutiny Intensifies Ahead of Monaco GP
Ferrari's pit crew is under the microscope as the team prepares for the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix. Following a series of unusually slow stops in the last two races, team principal Fred Vasseur has vowed to tighten procedures and restore confidence in the squad's efficiency.
Data from the Spanish Grand Prix showed an average pit stop time of 3.4 seconds for the Scuderia, compared to a season average of 2.9 seconds. The disparity sparked criticism from commentators and fierce competition from rivals Mercedes and Red Bull, who have consistently clocked sub-2.5-second stops.
In response, Ferrari announced a comprehensive review of its pit operations, including new training modules, equipment upgrades, and a rotating crew schedule to maximize focus during high-pressure moments. The team also hinted at a possible partnership with a leading pit equipment manufacturer to introduce lighter, faster-changing wheel guns.
"Every millisecond counts in Monaco, where a single mistake can cost the podium," Vasseur stated in a press conference. "Our aim is to bring our pit stop times back to the championship-winning level we know we're capable of."
