ExpressRoute Introduction

Secure, private, high‑performance connectivity between your on‑premises network and Microsoft Azure.

Explore Benefits

What is ExpressRoute?

ExpressRoute lets you extend your on‑premises networks into the Microsoft cloud over a private, dedicated connection. Unlike typical internet connections, ExpressRoute traffic never traverses the public internet, delivering higher reliability, lower latency, and greater security.

  • Private connectivity to Azure services
  • Predictable performance with SLA‑backed latency
  • Integrated with Azure Virtual WAN and Virtual Network
  • Supports Global Reach for inter‑region connectivity
