About This Sauce

Fresh, vibrant, and herbaceous, pesto is a classic Italian sauce made from basil, pine nuts, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil. Perfect for tossing with pasta, spreading on bruschetta, or drizzling over roasted vegetables.

Method

  1. Toast pine nuts in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden, about 3‑4 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  2. In a food processor, combine basil, cooled pine nuts, garlic, and Parmesan. Pulse until coarsely blended.
  3. With the processor running, slowly drizzle in olive oil until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Combine with cooked pasta (e.g., trofie or linguine) and toss to coat. Serve immediately.
