How to Use the Gallery

Using the Azure VM Gallery is straightforward:

  1. Navigate to the Azure portal.
  2. Click on Create a resource.
  3. Search for "Virtual machine" and select it.
  4. In the "Image" field, click See all images or browse the curated categories.
  5. Select your desired VM image from the gallery.
  6. Configure the rest of your virtual machine settings and deploy.

Custom Images

You can also create and use your own custom VM images. This allows you to deploy VMs with specific software configurations, security hardening, and compliance requirements already in place. Learn more about creating custom images.
