SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a server-based report generating software system from Microsoft. It is part of a suite of SQL Server services, including Integration Services (SSIS) and Analysis Services (SSAS). SSRS provides a range of tools and services to create, deploy, and manage reports for an organization.

Architecture Overview
SSRS operates on a three-tier architecture:
- Report Designer – Visual Studio or Report Builder used to design reports.
- Report Server – Hosts the report execution engine, storage, and management services.
- Report Manager / Web Portal – Allows users to view, manage, and subscribe to reports.
Getting Started
To create your first report:
- Install
SQL Server Reporting Servicesand configure the Report Server. - Use
Report BuilderorVisual Studioto design a report. - Deploy the report to the Report Server using the
Deployoption. - Access the report through the Web Portal at
http://<server>/reports.
